Talent, Creativity And Passion Is Mantra Of Success

Edutainment Show - the two-day event started with introductory sessions by Anant Rangaswami, Editor, Storyboard, CNBC TV 18 and Deepak Chaudhary, Founder and Director, Event Capital. Explaining the careers in Media and Design were Ramesh Sippy, Founder, Ramesh Sippy Academy of Cinema and Entertainment, Pradyumna Vyas, Director, NID and Divya Dutta, Actress.

This was followed by panel discussions on Entrepreneurship in Fashion and Scope and growth of design in India. Fashion designers Cavin Miguel and Nisha Lulla; Nisha Chanda, Whistling Woods International; Sohaya Misra, Chola The Label among others participated in the discussions.

Speakers at various sessions explained career options available in Media, Public Relations, Advertising and Design. Most of the speakers were critical about the selection of career by the students. "Speak to those who have done the course instead of following the advertisements and the media," said Rangaswami. Students were told to ask lots of questions in careers choices.

"Talent, creativity and passion - if you put these three factors in your life together, you will be a success," said Rahul Puri, Managing Director, Mukta Arts as the mantra of success.

In his speech, Ramesh Sippy said, "Education is taking a new leap. Institutions may be old but they are introducing new courses. It is also difficult to teach today's students since they already know too much through the internet and visual media," he observed.

"Conversion of innovation is very important in the business of Design," said Vyas while informing the gathering that there will be a need of lots of talents in the design industry by the year 2020 when the industry is going to touch Rs 11,00,000 crore from today's Rs 2000 crore plus mark.

Actress Divya Dutta urged the gathering to select their career as whatever they love to do in life and earn money out of it.

Mukesh Chhabra, Mukesh Chhabra Casting Company; Anjan Prakash, Biomimicry Communicator; Anurag Batra, Chairman & Editor In Chief, BW Businessworld; Asad Abid, The VIBE; Komal Lath, Tute Consult are the speakers amongst others in the following sessions. The second half of the day is expected to have sessions on Careers in Advertising and Media, Opportunities in Live Events, How to Build Creative Communities and Making a Living in Stand Up Comedy. Events of the day will conclude with the session on - How media business changes lives by Anurag Batra.

The event is curated to offer aspiring students exciting career options in alternative fields such as journalism, PR, advertising, event management, fashion, designing etc.
